  1. Hi, i've been going back over my ps2/xbox heug games to revisit games i loved to see if they hold up. Something i've noticed is genres that died out either partially or totally between then and now. One in particular was the 'operator' or 'tacticool' genre. Small 3 or 4 man crack squads in games where they are inserted into hostile environments to use stealth, tactics and strategy to take on superior numbers to do tasks that should be very hard to complete. You had games like Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter, Rainbow Six, Star Wars Republic Commando and so on that offered something different to the lone one man army killing machine power fantasy games of the time and while there have been a few attempts to revive the genre with games like Doorkickers and R6 Seige for the most part it remains a product of the mid 90's to mid 2000's thats largely gone with the modern versions leaning more to multiplayer esports or tablet gameplay instead of a traditional shooter with a tactical focus.   4. Hi, Sony stole a tiny slice of Microsoft's thunder when it released some teaser photos of bits and pieces of the PS4 -- mostly just vents and black plastic. However, one guy on Reddit used the photos to construct what he thought the console was going to look like and the Internet went awesome!   5. Hi, did anyone else see the trailer/announcement for Destiny? It's the new game by Bungee (of Halo fame) for the Playstation 4? This thing is phenomenal. The announcement trailer is entirely hand-drawn concept art, so it doesn't really show off any PS4 graphics. But if this thing actually happens, I think it's going to be awesome! Hi, A Russian hacker with a knack for modifying popular video games implanted a stealth cryptominer in his creations, including a mod of Grand Theft Auto (GTA) that was recently found on a Russian-speaking forum, available for download. The malware, known as WaterMiner, is also a mod – in this case, an altered version of a legit open-source miner known as XMRig, according to a Tuesday blog post from Minerva researchers, who shared their findings in advance with SC Media. Omri Moyal, co-founder and vice president of research at Minerva Labs, said in an interview that the author of the GTA mod and the WaterMiner variant of XMRig are most likely same – a man with the alias "Martin Opc0d3r." Moyal said Opc0d3r left behind certain "breadcrumbs" in his coding that strongly suggest that he's responsible for both mods, noting that the underlying skills needed to crack a video game are "not much different" than required to author malware. By embedding his cryptominer within modified video games, Opc0d3r is essentially sapping gamers of their computer processing power, using those stolen resources to secretly mine Monero cryptocurrency on the hacker's behalf. Designing levels for Half-Life and its mods was how I first got interested in architecture and have yet to meet anyone in school or now in the profession who has a similar background. Yet, designing environments for video games is in almost every way similar to the things we consider when designing a space to be built in the real world: lighting, movement, thresholds, aesthetics, changes in section, setting a mood, visual effects, acoustics, materials (textures), etc. What the medium lacks in the ability to touch and to smell and to wholly experience it seems to make up with an ability to be fast and reckless and disregard structural and mechanical and feasibility concerns. The same thing can be said for set design in the movie or television industries, the difference being that a video game level can be designed from start to finish by one person (although admittedly this is becoming more difficult as the complexity of levels continues to increase as technology allows). And that level can then be distributed around the world and be downloaded and played by thousands of people if it is well done and made for a game with a strong mod community. Hi, so what is everyone planning to do when they get to modding xenoverse 2. my plan is enhancing the core game to be little be easier where a grind is felt. or remove anything that shouldn't be in for more enjoyable play. like stats on clothing. i might be sticking to light stuff that don't effect the game feel like modded characters that are swapped in never liked it.   11. Hi, So I just installed a mod (Bergamo the Crusher, by the way). It's a .x2m file. It downloaded successfully, but when I looked at the costume slot in-game (and I do realize how petty this is), I saw that the name of the slot was "Universe 11 clothes". That 'C'. It isn't capitalized. And that drives me nuts. Is there a way to easily fix this? There are some other mods I'd like to do this with too. Please help. Thanks!   12. Hi, DLC Pack 4 isn't even released yet, and neither are the tools for Eternity Anyone know how he could have unlocked the stage? He is even using his textured model with the real SSB Vegito moveset, and he even managed to have Giant Zamasu unlocked?! Is it something skilled programmers can only do? Hi, kept Steam in Offline Mode so that I could play XV2 with mods peacefully, but one night my PC had updated itself and somehow updated Steam which updated XV2 along with it. it bricked the game and now everything is back to Vanilla. Is there no way to revert an update made to the game? I still want to play the game with the mods I had but without someone who knows how to update the patcher I can no longer enjoy the game with mods. Please help. Thanks!   14. Hi, Models are stored in various formats based on the platform they were exported to. DXG files are used for the original Xbox and in the PC version of Cars. XNG is used in Cars, Cars: Mater-National and Cars: Race-O-Rama on the Xbox 360. It is also used in Cars: Mater-National on the PC. File formats for the PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3 and Wii have not been researched yet. The PC, original Xbox and Xbox 360 all use DirectX-based textures. Cars for PC and Xbox use a DXT variant, which can be converted to and from DDS (a more open format) for editing. All other PC and Xbox 360 game use DDS, which can be edited in several photo editing packages such as Photoshop. Hi, I have always wondered this, people keep telling me you just download them but i want to know how you actually make the mod itself.Like adding a car, how would i make a car for a game and import it in? Or on arma two i was in a server on wasteland and a hack popped up and transported everyone,the nukes. and it was so in depth that it displayed letters and banners across the screen with a video to the right hand corner and it even let everyone spawn things into the server by pressing f9.   21. Hi, I am an older player (about to enter my 7th decade) who enjoys this game immensely, but I lack the necessary physical skills to be competitive with some assistance from Mods. I did not grow up in the digital age, so I lack the hand-eye skills that most of the younger players developed playing video games. just laugh at my feeble efforts every time I try to pick up an X-box controller. When I first started on WOT, I found that I could gain some competence driving my tank, but I continued to have difficulty keeping my gun aimed on an enemy, especially if they were moving. I found OMC and auto-aim, and it really added to my enjoyment of the game and allowed me to continue to play it instead of giving up in frustration. Otherwise, I'd feel lonely in this vast expanse of space, and having every character look like a cleft-chinned old guy who looks like he's tired of living always bothered me.   23. Hi, When I add more images in the landscape folder (correct format, naming and resolution). Only a handful of them appear in the game, and only a handful of them are available to be selected through the game editor. Can someone help me resolve this? I'm adding the images in the correct path in the Customization folder, and not directly to the original game folder. These aren't my images. Hi, After several mod re-downloads and shuffling my mod order multiple times,and a war with a dictator<jk/lol>, i did get the 2 mods to work together.i downloaded the newest version i found. then reloaded to the newest beta version. I also added the russian house,as it was newer than the NORTH version. i like having the debug active,not to cheat but its handy to check new mods out with.place CC above The North and turn off all other nordic mods(or you get small funny toolbar icons).with the NORTH above,the game errored and kicked me out. there are sveral differences. subtle changes to some map window terrain,some of the bushes look different,way the snow looks on fields and roads,deer look like reindeer but do not give fur only leather. the stat box has several changes: the calendar now reads by month not seasons and all the icons are shuffled around- food is where the firewood was,logs is where food was,etc. the profession's box has several additions to it, enough that the box is much larger. this covers where i usually have the stat window. opening a few buildings,i noticed the iron icon on the build menus has changed. we also now have a few extra icons under the remove toolbar- quick placeale hunter and crayfish catcher,as well as a firewood gatherer.   25. Hi, Initially i thought this game was pretty good......but now I've completely changed my mind because of one thing. Easy and normal are way too easy and as soon as you play in hard mode the AI starts with it's outright cheating, you want examples? I was playing against France, they were giving away penalty after penalty for handling in the ruck and dangerous tackles, i counted.......turns out they did a total of 16 of these penalties, without a single booking. The first time i get called for handling in the ruck i get a red card........ then later on (After yet more AI penalties with no cards) i give away my second penalty of the game....yellow card.....WTF!!!!!!
